EMDR, Trauma, and Anxiety Therapist in Florida | Meet Sarah Harris, LCSW

For Women Who Are Exhausted From Holding It All Together and Ready for Real Change

You've worked hard to build a good life and by most measures, it looks exactly that way — good. But internally, something still feels unfinished. The overthinking hasn't stopped. The anxiety hasn't lifted. And no matter how much you understand about yourself, the patterns keep showing up anyway.

If that resonates, you're in the right place.

I'm Sarah Harris, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and the founder of The Orchid Women's Wellness Center. I specialize in helping women heal from trauma, anxiety, and self-doubt through EMDR and trauma-informed therapy. We go deeper than insight and coping strategies to address what is actually keeping your nervous system stuck.

My Approach to Healing

Therapy with me is designed for women who are done managing symptoms and ready to understand what's actually driving them.

If you're looking for a therapist who:

  • Gets to the root, not just the surface — helping you understand why you feel stuck, not just how to cope with it

  • Creates a calm, grounded space where you don't have to perform or hold it all together

  • Uses proven methods like EMDR and nervous system work to help your body finally feel safe again

  • Moves at your pace, guiding without pushing, so healing feels steady and sustainable

  • Respects your faith and values while helping you reconnect with who you actually are

Then you'll likely feel right at home here. My goal is that you leave therapy not just functioning better, but feeling genuinely lighter, freer, and more yourself.

How is therapy with me different?

Accelerated Progress Through Targeted Therapy

Many women who come to me have tried therapy before. They’ve talked about their struggles, learned coping tools, maybe even seen small changes — but deep down, something still feels unfinished.

That’s because real healing doesn’t happen by just learning to manage symptoms; it happens when we get to the root of why your nervous system is still stuck in survival mode. Therapy with me is designed to help you find lasting freedom, not temporary relief.

What makes my approach different:

  • I focus on depth, not just discussion. Talking helps you understand what’s happening, but healing requires your mind and body to actually experience safety again. That’s where EMDR and nervous system work come in.

  • I move at the pace your system can handle. Whether you prefer weekly sessions or an extended Breakthrough Session, the work is structured to match your capacity, not force a timeline.

  • You’ll gain practical tools and emotional insight. I’ll help you recognize your patterns, calm reactivity, and rebuild confidence — in ways that create lasting change beyond the therapy room.

  • I offer accelerated therapy for deeper, faster healing. Breakthrough Sessions provide the time and space to work through one issue intensively, allowing meaningful progress in days rather than months for those ready to go deeper.

My goal is the same for every woman I work with: that you leave therapy not just coping, but truly living with more peace, clarity, and confidence in who you are.

Am I the right therapist for you?

Many women who come to me have tried therapy before. They've gained insight, learned coping tools, maybe even seen small changes — but something still feels unfinished.

That's because understanding a pattern and actually healing it are two different things. My work is designed to bridge that gap, whether that happens through consistent weekly sessions or a more intensive format.

Some women do their best work with the rhythm of weekly therapy, steady, supported progress over time. Others are ready to go deeper faster and find that Breakthrough Sessions give their nervous system the uninterrupted space it needs to move through something that weekly sessions haven't been able to fully reach.

Both paths are designed for the same woman, one who is done with surface-level coping and ready to do real work. The format is just a matter of what fits your life and where you are in the process.

My goal is the same either way: that you leave not just functioning better, but actually living differently.

  • You might be a good fit if you’re ready for something deeper — not just to talk about what’s hard, but to truly heal what’s underneath it.

I work best with women who:

    • Have tried therapy before but still feel stuck or disconnected

    • Feel weighed down by anxiety, perfectionism, or self-doubt

    • Are open to exploring the connection between their body, emotions, and faith

    • Want a therapist who is warm and compassionate but also honest and gently challenging

    • Are ready to build lasting confidence and peace instead of just coping

  • Who Isn’t a Good Fit?

My approach may not be for everyone — and that’s okay.
It may not be the right fit if you’re:

    • Looking for quick solutions or surface-level coping skills

    • Not ready to explore the emotional or physical roots of what’s keeping you stuck

    • Hoping to stay in “maintenance” mode without making deeper changes

    • Uncomfortable with a therapist who brings both clinical expertise and personal faith into the work (though I never impose it).

    • I’m happily married and a mom to 4 who loves spending time with my family and finding small, meaningful moments of connection in everyday life.

    • I’m a coffee lover, a deep thinker, and someone who values honest, heart-centered conversations.

    • I’m always learning, whether through professional trainings, faith-based study, or personal growth work.

    • My faith is the foundation of who I am, but I also appreciate humor, humility, and the ability to not take life too seriously.

    • I believe healing happens not just in therapy sessions but in the small, quiet moments when we begin to see ourselves with compassion.

Specialties

  • EMDR Therapy & Trauma Recovery

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) helps your brain reprocess painful or overwhelming experiences so they no longer have the same emotional charge. It’s especially effective for trauma, anxiety, perfectionism, and unresolved pain from the past.
Through this process, you can finally begin to feel calmer, more present, and in control of your life again.

  • Anxiety Therapy for Women

Anxiety can show up as overthinking, irritability, burnout, or the feeling that you can never fully rest. I help women identify and release what’s fueling their anxiety while learning to regulate the nervous system, set boundaries, and respond to life with confidence instead of fear.

You’ll gain tools for calm and clarity but more importantly, you’ll begin to feel safe inside your own body again.

  • Christian Counseling

For clients who want to integrate their faith into therapy, I offer a Christian perspective that combines biblical truth with evidence-based methods. Together, we’ll invite faith into the healing process in a way that feels natural and supportive.

If you prefer a secular approach, your values and beliefs will always be respected and honored.

  • Breakthrough Sessions

Sometimes, traditional weekly therapy doesn’t provide enough time or depth to create real movement. Breakthrough Sessions are extended sessions (2-3 hour or multi-day formats) designed for women who want focused, accelerated healing.
These sessions allow us to dive deeply into one specific issue, creating space for powerful insight and emotional release in a shorter period of time.

Clinical Experience

  • I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) and a Master of Social Work (MSW) from the University of Central Florida. After completing my degrees, I underwent two years of supervised clinical experience, which equipped me with the skills necessary to support individuals in their healing journeys. My education and training have provided me with a solid foundation in evidence-based practices, allowing me to effectively address the unique needs of my clients.

  • In addition to my licensure, I have received specialized training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, a powerful approach for treating trauma and various mental health concerns. I am currently in the process of obtaining full EMDR certification, which involves rigorous clinical supervision and the successful treatment of numerous clients using this method. This certification process requires me to work with at least 25 clients using EMDR, ensuring that I gain extensive hands-on experience and expertise in this transformative therapeutic approach. My commitment to ongoing education and certification reflects my dedication to providing the highest quality care to my clients.

  • I am committed to lifelong learning and have undergone extensive professional and clinical training to enhance my therapeutic skills. My training includes specialized programs in attachment work, EMDR, trauma-informed care, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, Internal Family Systems, and Polyvagal Theory. This diverse educational background allows me to offer a comprehensive and informed approach to therapy, ensuring that I provide the best possible support for my clients.
